Buying the Music.
Kirtan musicians in concert.
Most songs cited on this website need to be bought. This is to support the musicians, who have dedicated their lives to creating Kirtan music. Without them, there would be no quality album nor concerts to go to. Kirtan would not exist in the form that it does today.
All my recorded music is on CD’s, mostly bought at concerts, festivals and markets where I meet the musician. I always listen to music as a meditation, giving it undivided attention, and I never play music as background to my daily activities. I do not use i-phones, because there is no mobile phone reception in my secluded forested home where I work, and I talk to people in person when I go to town. I have solar powered satellite internet in my little storage shed.
The following Australian Kirtan musicians sell their songs as single songs, as downloads :
Sacred Earth, Kevin James Carrol, Terry Oldfield and Soraya, Sacred Space. Their websites are –

These artists also offer their music thru Applemusic, Spotify, Soundcloud, and other online listening services.

My Recommended Recordings.
I not only interpret the lyrics, I also recommend a specific recording of each mantra. My criteria are –
- Good music, in voice and instrumental, and
- Good melody for the mantra, and
- Easy to sing along to, especially in a group.
So I recommend you buy the following 3 albums. They have several Kirtan songs on them, which are all good music, good melody, and good to sing along to.
- “Love is Space”, 2002, by Deva Premal and Miten, $17 USD.
- “Moola Mantra”, 2007, by Deva Premal and Miten, $17 USD. The whole album is dedicated to the Moola Mantra, and the music and singing is excellent, on https://devapremalmiten.com/Music/

Concerts.
If you like their recordings, you might like to get to their performances. Covid-19 lockdowns and travel restrictions have greatly interfered with concerts, music festivals and other important large gatherings, so I will first mention past concerts by these professional Kirtan musicians.
Of the Australian Kirtan musicians, Sacred Earth and Kevin James have often toured Europe and Australia, giving concerts, Terry and Soraya tour less often. Sacred Space has not performed concerts for many years, as Nilong and Arjuna. Of the American artists, Deva Premal now has a huge following, and her band performed annually in eastern Australia, but Miten is now in his seventies, and probably won't come to Oz again. Krishna Das performed a few times in east Australia, but he is now in his seventies and offers his music and Dharma online.
